T-day weekend

Good Monday morning to everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your holiday (T-day). I had a full weekend (all four days)...Had a house full of people (who got there on Tuesday and who are still there).
Started the turkey at 8am, by 9am I was outside setting up the Christmas Cheer.

Who knew inflatables could take sooooo long to set up? They're huge - 6 feet tall by 5 feet wide and theres three of them. Finally got them located and working then moved onto the lights. Lots-o-lights!! :)   Red bulbs, blue bulbs, green bulbs. Flashing bulbs and non flashing bulbs. Snowflakes too. Next thing I knew it was 3:30 in the afternoon. Time to stop playing with the lights and get the rest of dinner done.....MMMMMMM, the turkey smells good! mashed potatoes, yams, peas, corn, green beans, cranberries and rolls. Oh and deviled eggs too!  My baby (17) had to work and didn't get home until 9pm. It was her first Thanksgiving not at home. Which really kinda sucked. My son tried to help....he got a frozen pumpking pie - and put it in the fridge instead of the freezer - we had pumpkin soup :)  It's the effort that counts, right?

Been working on ornaments all weekend. lil' Santa bulbs, big Santa bulbs, Belle Hopps, snowflakes, paperclay ornies...busy, busy!
My daughter, her friend and my daughter-in-law went shopping on 'black friday'.....out of their minds. They left the house at 2:30am to stand in line. Only to discover that Walmart had given out tickets instead of making people wait like they should. But they got everything else they went after. I don't do the AM sales. I figure if they can give it to me at that price on black friday then they should sell it to me for that price all year. That just simply tells me I'm being overcharged any other time.  I did go out later on friday.
Went to Hobby Lobby (not a good place to send me with no supervision). My daughter-in-law went with me. Had a good time looking at everything and spent waaaaayyy to much, again. Got some great ideas for some of the dolls I'm working on.
Saturday was a blur.....
Sunday wizzzzed by too, managed to get the tree up and the Mrs' houses (whole village, no, small city is closer).

I'll post the doll progress later on.....Have a Great Monday.

Here's a shot of my Belle Hopps (Jingle Bell Peoples). I don't think my blog editor likes me...It keeps changing or deleting pieces of my photos. Does any one else have this issue?
Anyway, I was going to 'paint' a smile on them and then realized that they already had one. They have the cutest personalities. Just thought I'd share what I've been working on.

Good Morning!
Had a productful weekend. Manage to get quite a bit done. Worked on Christmas gifts, created ornaments (lots - 80+ pieces) and even managed to get some photos taken of my work. The fact that it was raining helped alot! Here's a few photos......

Jeweled Snowflakes
Santa in black
Santa in red
I also did some Belle Hopps. I'll post photos of them as soon as I can get some cooperation out of this editor.....
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Good Morning! Bbbrrrrrrrrr! It's a cold morning in Georgia....39 degrees. Guess I can't complain, after all, it's mid November. Supposed to be 65 today - we'll have to wait and see. Now that we're done with the weather report........
More photos of my Patchwork Angels..
Here they are completed. #1 has a halo of berries and leaves. Black hair with curls and big green eyes. A gown of embossed red felt with glittered highlights on the inside piece. All topped off with a collar of white faux fur.

#2 looks like a sparkling choir boy. He has auburn hair and big brown eyes and a large toothy grin. His gown is blue and white snowflakes trimmed with sparkling blue glitter and topped off with faux pearls.

Heres the two of them together. #1 (red) is aprx. 10 inches (a little more or less due to the halo). #2 (blue) is aprx. 13 inches tall.

I am selling these for $40 each. I just have to figure out the best way to do that. Ebay? Etsy? Paypal on my blogger? Any suggestions from any one of the fabulous artist out there would be greatly appreciated.......

I have been working on a new project...Patchwork Angels.
I start with a styrofoam ball, work up the features in paperclay and
then add acrylic coated material over the top. The idea for the acrylic
coated material came from Susie McMahon Dolls...now all I have to do
is figure out how she gets them so smooth. Her dolls are really quite beautiful.
check out her work...you won't be disappointed.

I couldn't get mine that smooth, so I decided to do a
patchwork on them (hence, Patchwork Angels).
Anyway, I really enjoyed making them.
And Ms. Susie, if you're listening - tell me the secret! LOL
My gorgeous, talented, lovely, charming daughter took me to a movie last night....had a great time. We saw 2012....really good start, then got the whole save the world sterotypical movie script. But overall it was good. There were a few 'OMG' moments....so I'd have to say 8 out of 10.

Here I am once again....it's seems like forever - well, ok - it has been forever since I posted anything on my blog - 3 years, in fact. What brought me back? The amazing work I've been seeing on Blogger. I have been truely inspired by all the artists out there. Not that I haven't been creating.....just a new wave of inspiration. I will be adding to my list of blogs I like - if you get the chance check them out.

So here's to day one (even if it's day one again). Wish me luck. Hope to meet lots of new friends....
