After Christmas Blue Light Special.....

Good Day to you All!
I hope everyone had a wonderfully joyous holiday! I had a very nice Christmas...family was there and everyone had a good time. The Grandkids had a blast...my 7 month old granddaughter got her most favorite gift of all time....a shinny piece of wrapping paper! LOL! she played with it for hours. Isn't that just like a kid? Never mind the gift just give them the packaging.  :)
I did manage to get some work done on my PA's this long holiday weekend......

They now have bodies (batting around armature) and feet...

I also got their feet covered (same material and process as the heads) and painted. They are really looking good!

And I even managed to get DeeObLow and SkulyLuv's bodies wrapped! They look good - I'm just not 100% convinced on the process yet.....may have to try it a different way.
They're so happy they have bodies and feet that they're dancing! Shake your money makers!!  :)
I hope you all have a greatly productive week!!

Monday Again.

Good Morning...
can you believe it's Monday again? It's almost Christmas and December is quickly coming to an end.....That went fast!
Anyway, I hope everyone had a productive week. I got a good bit done. Got all my Christmas shopping done and wrapped. Worked on my PA's some more....the 'Evolution' is coming along splendid. :)  Wanna see?

First, let me show you LemonDrop. He's an original style, but is now complete....

He has white cloth flowers with mini-pearls (as opposed to Minnie Pearl) and white lace around his neck and bottom. The bottom lace is attached so he's 'coming out' of it...like a flower.

I've also been working on one more of the original style.....just a sneak peak.

She's actually much further along than this, but not complete.
Now for some pics of the "Evolution of an Angel"....

I came across some armature that people use for dolls and teddy bears and thought 'that would work great!'

And so far it has....I have added the armature to DeeObLow and SkulyLuv. I can't wait to add the 'stuffing' and get them dressed. I'm still trying to figure out the feetz.....any ideas?
I have two more in addition to DeeObLow and SkulyLuv....They're still in the beginning stages...but here's a peak...

heres how they start (they remind me of Marvin from 'Hitchhikers guide to the universe)...and where they are so far.

Anyway, that's where we're at. Hope you have a great week and do lots of creative stuff.

Another Soggy Monday Morning.........
I really think I need to invest in a houseboat.
It was quite a productive weekend (for you too I hope). Wrapped gifts, had friends over for an exchange (and just to visit). Found out that Perry (my *Son* away from home) is joining the Marines in January. Kinda freaked me out a little - with everything that is going on in the middle east - just one more person to worry over. He's such a good kid and has been a great friend to my son. God, I hope he's careful. Perry, I'm proud of you but I still wish you weren't going.....you better come home safe! Speaking of my son...Ryan has been baking and cooking all weekend. I think he's trying to see if he can get me to 500 pounds by christmas. I'm gonna have to lock him out of the kitchen (even though he is a pretty good cook). My daughter has been working, working, working....I hardly see her anymore. It seems like yesterday that she was my little girl, had to be right by my side....they grow up so fast. Ok, how did I get so sidetracked? I worked on my PA's this weekend and accomplished a good bit....

First up - The Ringmaster's hat finally came. I got his bow tie attached and put on his hat! Ain't he dapper?

Then I began the next set.....You'll have to watch for the "evolution of an angel".....

1) paperclay sculpted and drying
Then the patchwork begins.......these next two, SkulyLuv and DeeObLow, will be the first two involved in the "evolution" (curious yet?)

And heres LemonDrop (original style). Without and with his face.....

Days later.....SkulyLuv and DeeObLow have thier faces as well. The countdown to the Evolution of an Angel has begun......stay tuned!

Til next time...Be safe and be creative!!

Completion - Hurray!

Good Wet Wednesday Morning To Ya!
I was busy last night....you should have seen the material and glue and glitter and ribbon flying all over :)
I managed to finish 2 of my PA's...and they turned out very well, even if I do say so myself. Here's a couple of photos...

I was very pleased with these two. #6's hat just pulled it all together!

I was all ready to pack up #3...but everytime I looked at her....there was something missing and I just couldn't put my finger on it. While I was working on the others, I moved a stack of material and a sudden realization came to pass.....she was missing her eyelashes (that's what happens when you bury things)...
She now has her eyelashes, blue and purple to match her attire....

That means that 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 are complete! I'm so excited!
And what of #5, you ask? He is calmly waiting for his finishing touches. Just a couple of minor things - bow tie / top hat. Maybe tomorrow his pic will be here.  Yea!!

Hope you all have a wonderous day.

and now we have mouths (mustaches) and hair. don't they all look so happy now?

Ready to get dressed! just a tease at what they will look like.......

Heres a couple of pics further along......#5 is still waiting on his bow tie and top hat. #3 is ready for a night out on the town......

Friday!!

It's friday, hurray!! man it's been a long week.
I got some more work done on my PA's last night. Started #6. He looks really good. The color seemed off a little bit, but then it dried darker (like paint tends to do). I like it now. Here's a photo....

And heres all the Usual Suspects......
I guess I'm gonna have to name them after fruits and vegtables.....I have a grapefruit, an orange and two eggplants...LOL!

Wanna see the cutest thing ever????  My granddaughter gettin' in the Christmas spirtit. She's doing pretty well considering she just got her ears pierced. She always smiles for Pappy!

Bit by Bit, Little by Little

Good Day to You!
it's supposed to be sunny today....I can't wait! It was cloudy and rainy and grey yesterday, I'm ready for the sun. Besides the wind blew down my santa and my penquin last night. Pulled the stakes right out of the ground. Oh well, I'll just have to set them all back up.
Got to work on my PA's last night. Got the eyes done on three of them. Yet to start the fourth one. It was late and I didn't want to start him - cause I wouldn't stop until he was covered....maybe tonight. Here's a couple of photos...

#5 (my 'orange guy') is really starting to grow on me. I had a really strong idea of how I wanted him to look and then I came across "Young Frankenstein" yesterday on one of the oldies channels, hence his eyes.  :)

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Making progress

Chipping away at it....
Was able to do a little work on these guys last night...added the eyes to #3, added another coat of 'furple' to #4 and started the process on #5.

I thought I'd try a different color on #5...not sold on it yet. He reminds me of an orange. I'm sure once I start adding things he'll be fine.   :)

Have a great day! (it's raining here - again, blaaahhh).

Good Morning All!
As promised here are the photos of the newest Angels...I tried a 'new color'. I wasn't thrilled with it to begin with but now I really like it....
Here's the beginning of the next four.....

And they all decieded they wanted a tan.  :)

And now we begin the Patchwork Process.....He's furple!!

This will be #4... He's got some serious bug eyes. :)

And #3 now has a coat of white for his eyes...

Thats as far as I am at the moment....hopefully I will be able to do a little more tonight.

Oh! I almost forgot.....I got online last night for a class with Jack Johnston. He was discussing the comeback of the doll market. The economy is starting to improve and he can see that in the doll market. It was very informative. You can check out his stuff at http://www.artdolls.com/

T-day weekend

Good Monday morning to everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your holiday (T-day). I had a full weekend (all four days)...Had a house full of people (who got there on Tuesday and who are still there).
Started the turkey at 8am, by 9am I was outside setting up the Christmas Cheer.

Who knew inflatables could take sooooo long to set up? They're huge - 6 feet tall by 5 feet wide and theres three of them. Finally got them located and working then moved onto the lights. Lots-o-lights!! :)   Red bulbs, blue bulbs, green bulbs. Flashing bulbs and non flashing bulbs. Snowflakes too. Next thing I knew it was 3:30 in the afternoon. Time to stop playing with the lights and get the rest of dinner done.....MMMMMMM, the turkey smells good! mashed potatoes, yams, peas, corn, green beans, cranberries and rolls. Oh and deviled eggs too!  My baby (17) had to work and didn't get home until 9pm. It was her first Thanksgiving not at home. Which really kinda sucked. My son tried to help....he got a frozen pumpking pie - and put it in the fridge instead of the freezer - we had pumpkin soup :)  It's the effort that counts, right?

Been working on ornaments all weekend. lil' Santa bulbs, big Santa bulbs, Belle Hopps, snowflakes, paperclay ornies...busy, busy!
My daughter, her friend and my daughter-in-law went shopping on 'black friday'.....out of their minds. They left the house at 2:30am to stand in line. Only to discover that Walmart had given out tickets instead of making people wait like they should. But they got everything else they went after. I don't do the AM sales. I figure if they can give it to me at that price on black friday then they should sell it to me for that price all year. That just simply tells me I'm being overcharged any other time.  I did go out later on friday.
Went to Hobby Lobby (not a good place to send me with no supervision). My daughter-in-law went with me. Had a good time looking at everything and spent waaaaayyy to much, again. Got some great ideas for some of the dolls I'm working on.
Saturday was a blur.....
Sunday wizzzzed by too, managed to get the tree up and the Mrs' houses (whole village, no, small city is closer).

I'll post the doll progress later on.....Have a Great Monday.
