Weddings, Babies and Frogs?

Hello Peoples!
Hope you all are having a fantastic day!

Now that Halloween has been put to rest, it's time to get back to the 'normal' things. At least for a few weeks...then it will be time to set up the Christmas decorations. :)

So, where to start....
Well, I have begun working on the Moxie Faerie again (thought I forgot about her didn't you?). I got the legs cut, sewn, gesso-ed and painted white. Working on the designs (vines and leaves) that cover the her torso. Once that is done I will attach the legs to the torso. I think I may do a button type attachment instead of simply thread. Not sure yet. I will have to wait until everything is dry and ready to be connected. I had to do the legs twice....really goofed up the first pair. They may work for something else. The remind me of 'Raggedy Ann' style legs. So who knows...maybe. :)

two pair...the left ones are the goofs.

I am reading a new book now (in addition to the previous one, that I am still reading). It's by Lisa L. Cyr and is titled ART Revolution. I'm about a quarter of the way into it and so far it has been more of a 'history lesson' than anything else. I think it will change up some later in the book and show more 'how to's'. At least I hope so. It's about several different artists whose style I really like. They use a multitude of techniques to produce their art work. I will let you know more as time progresses.

Yesterday we went to the wedding of our friends' (Eddy & Yvonne) daughter. It was a very nice ceremony. Congratulations to Vincent & Heather! May you have a life filled with joy and happiness!
It took place in the chapel of Southcare. Which is a funeral / cremation society. The weird thing about this is that both of my parents were cremated there. So it was a kind of surreal experience being there for a wedding. What I didn't know is that the man who runs the place, David, is Yvonne's brother-in-law. Just goes to show how small the world really is. After the ceremony, we went to David and Tara's home for the reception. They have a lovely home that filled up rather quickly! The groom's mother, Cecilia, cooked the food. It was really amazing! I was so full. The cake was white chocolate raspberry. It too, was very good! Everybody mingled and danced and drank! Really had a good time. Some more than others, but that is another story for another time. All in all, it was a great day!
Later on, Yvonne introduced my daughter, Jenifer, to David. They discussed her coming and working for him. It started out as a discussion about her doing makeup and ended with them discussing an apprenticeship for her. She has a meeting with him later this coming week! Keep your fingers (and toes) crossed! She seemed happy about how the conversation went! What really freaked me out was that David remembered the dates of when my parents were cremated. It was really 'out there'. :)

And today, while I am typing this, my wife is having a baby shower for our daughter-in-law. There are currently a dozen loud women above my head. :) So no pictures, at this moment. I guess they'll have to wait til later.

That's all for this post. Hope your week is fabulous and filled with all the happiness you deserve. :)
til next time, Be Good, Be Safe, Be Happy!!

  1. Isn't it odd how these coincidences come together? The Wedding looks like fun, as it should be. Congratulations to the couple!

The frog, I swear, was just there for a photo op, that green on that pink. Beautiful. And it's nice to see progress on your Moxie. The spare feet, could you sew a bell on the tip for a jester-y kind of doll?
