Day Three - Sunday, Sept. 2
Sunday started off really icky. Yes, I said 'icky'. I woke up congested and unable to breathe. I thought it was allergies. But I really don't think it is now. I got up and went into town. Parked and wandered around for a while. I met up with Jan and she made coffee. Aaahhhhh! coffee. We hung out at their place for a little while before we left. The only thing I had on my list of 'must do' was to go and see RJ Haddy from Face Off. He was doing a panel on foam usage in costuming. Due to learning from previous days, we got there early - about 2 hours. When the doors were closed for the panel that was in this room we got in line. Now there were already 6 people in front of us. Of course we were immediately told we couldn't line up yet. No one moved. Then they started fussing. So we moved across the walk way and proceeded to 'chit-chat'. By no means were we 'lining up'. By the time it got close for the panel, the line went around the balcony floor at least 8 times over. They opened the doors and proceeded to let people in, they got to me and the guy looks in the other direction and says 'we're going to let you in from over here'. Needless to say, I lost my mind. I was very blunt and before I could stop myself......."Oh f*@k no! I've been standing here for two hours". The look on the guys face was one of total shock. He stammered and finally got out 'but she's in a wheel chair'. There was a man standing between me and the older woman in the wheel chair. I didn't even see her behind the open door. So we let her in and then the three of us went into the room. We were in the second row. After things calmed down before the panel began I went and found the woman in the wheel chair and apologized. She said 'oh honey, if I were in your shoes I would have done the same thing'. I was really glad she wasn't offended. We learned a lot from RJ. Foam is something I will be looking into for next years costume. RJ had a special guest to help him.....It was Roy from Face Off season 3 (the current one). What I didn't know about Roy is that he is employed as a make up artist at Netherworld right here in Georgia. We got to see some of the newest costumes for netherworld that Roy is working on. They were really cool...bugs. Extremely large bugs. After the panel was over I went and found the poor guy from the door and apologized for my outburst. He just smiled and said 'it's ok, no damage done'. Makes you wonder how many other people have flown off the handle. Hhhhmmmmm.
The pictures below start with some of the people I photographed while we were standing in line waiting for RJ's panel......I was ambushing people at the top of the escalators

From here we went back to Jan & Karen's condo and Jan cooked us dinner. She made some really amazing peanut chicken. Never had it before. It was really good. She put entirely too much on my plate. I felt bad for not being able to finish it all. Then Jan & Karen started getting dressed for the steampunk ball. Karen talked me into going. She kept saying 'you'll love it, the costumes are amazing....you should come with us'. Jan kept trying to find me something to wear. I had on shorts and a tshirt. Nothing she had fit. Besides, as I told her 'it was too hot to get dressed again'. When they were finally ready to go, they both looked great! By this time, after listening to Karen, I was excited to go.....
